Rehnah Touseef

Embroidery, Designer

Being a part of this live project and given the opportunity to work with the lovely Year 9 students of Honley High School (to promote the Line) has been such a pleasant experience!

What I have particularly enjoyed in this project is the way in which we have all collaboratively worked together, exchanged new and exciting ideas/skills/opinions and have carried out practical artistic works (in the many textiles workshops we have carried out – Embroidery, screen printing, natural dyeing, collage, weave/knit).
Another aspect of this project, which was something exciting for me as well as the students is that we were able to go on a trip together; travelling on the train from Honley to Dodworth. This was such an invaluable experience for those who had never travelled on the line before and was also such an eye opener to (how quick & efficient the train was as well as) all the fantastic scenery/greenery visible from the train. I, myself use the train on a day to day basis to get to and from University.

Themes in my own work include:
minimalism, food drawings, travel drawings, domestic/ household environment, geometry, repetition, structure, form, duplication, volume, interior décor, design, organic, atmosphere, movement, shape & interaction.
